National Cherry Blossom 2010

After years of not going to the National Cherry Blossom (even though I every time I see the title I want to say, “Perfect Cherry Blossom” from Touhou) with friends saying they have and the constant emails about certain events at the Smithsonians, I was able to get my arse up there.

For me it was a one-day event just to see what the big hype was about; however, the hype was pretty big. There were thousands and thousands of people pouring into the National Mall and surround areas. The metro stations were just packed around the monumental areas.

The festival celebrates the peak blooming of the Cherry Blossoms that were originally given to the US from Japan after the US supported the Japanese in the Open Door Policy dealing with Manchuria.

During the festival there were tons of events for the tons of people, from the scattered concerts around the mall to workshops and presentations in the Smithsonian. Keeping with the whole Cherry Blossom Festival, there was bound to be some anime related event at some point, especially with the random emails I received from Otakorp and the DC Anime Club about the events at the Freer Gallery.

The freer Gallery was just oozing with Asian art since it is an Asian art gallery of all things. There were some Anime Marathons, Sakura Cupcakes, and what seemed to be an informal Masquerade (out of all things) in one of the auditoriums.

Of course there were the blooming trees themselves surrounding the tidal basin and the East Potomac Park. Several free shuttles and metros served the areas, but again most of the time people walked all over the place.

Being that this was an informal event I attended, I was not prepared for anything. Fortunately, there was not a specific goal in mind to do anything; however, next year things may change in terms of planning.

DSi Phone? It would be cool

Something interesting popped up on 2ch across the pond. Someone shopped together a DSi phone that seems to not follow the DSi xl (the bigger DSi) and went smaller. Neat concept, it would go well with the Idolm@ster Dearly Stars game I just got.

On The Road to Anime USA

Raining cats and dogs right now on I-85 N; however, this Dodge Caravan is working on it’s way to NOVA (Northern Virginia). Good times having the internet and some music on the road. Been a while since I’ve been in a car full of people going to a convention, if not a odd group of people. Got an Anime USA host to the right, AnimeUSA maid behind, and neonpixie.com photographer to the rear left in the van.

Partial Up

The site is partially up after a week of file corruptions and other annoying factors. All con photos before 2008 are up; however, it’s left in archive style for now. All photos after 2008 are located different area. Everything is still being fixed from broken links to testing the integrity of the modules on the site.

Best Event Award

Now since finals are over, I can finally make posts that have been suspended.

This is a congratulations to the guy at Anime USA 2007 in the bar/lobby Friday night showing pr0n to all the people outside of the hotel.

He’s now known as “Porno Guy.” Epic LULZ to him.

You Have Got to be Kidding Me

Fox 11 have now proven they have failed on being a news caster. Anonymous can be anyone on the internet posting on the public “secret website” in topics related to non-terrorist threads. Funny the silhouette hacker looks a lot like that fag complaining to be harassed. He definitely pissed in an ocean of piss, so did Fox 11.

According to another Anonymous, the guy wanted Anonymous to invade and mess with his girlfriend for some odd reason. Anonymous did not want to do that and therefore, the guy in the Fox 11 clip tried to fight back against Anonymous; however, that ended up him “Pissing in an ocean of Piss.”
