Beat – Shakugan no Shana

Last weekend I was able to travel to Anime Boston to report on it. A portion of my time was spent in the Dealer’s Room comparing prices between some online dealers and the merchants in “Exhibit Hall” (Anime Boston’s dealer’s room). One of the figurines caught my eye (ok was two that caught my eye). What I should have done was to look at all six side of the box. What ended up getting the two figurines I wanted ended up with some suggestive Shanas. Oops. Well to get started, the set comes with a Shana in her school uniform, Wilhelmina, and I’ll just let the pictures fill in for words.

Good Smile – Fate/Stay Night Figurines

A few months ago I was able to grab one of the last box set of Fate/Stay Night figurines by Good Smile. This twelve figurine box set comes with Rin Tosaka, two versions of Illyasviel von Einzbern, two versions of Rider, two Sabers (one secret), Sakura Mato, an Archer, and three copies. For a mass produced product, these figurines are very detailed, even down to the “Gao Gao” on Saber’s bathroom cup. The set comes with both white circular and elliptical bases depending on the figurine. These bases were pretty hard to use because the holes on the figurines were too small for the pegs on the base. Luckily the figurines are made of PVC; therefore, it was easy to bore out a bigger hole on the figurine using a precision screwdriver. At least the holes were too small instead of being too big; like the Futakoi Twins figurines where I had to super glue the parts together.
