J-Day – Charlotte, NC
By: quadrain | August 11, 2007 on 12:15 am | Category: Gatherings | No CommentsDown in Charlotte, there was another successful event for Animazement attendees as a gathering happened. Even with the 100+ degree weather, people came out to gather. There was a lot more “fun” activities than an actual picnic including blowing bubble gum with flour, photo scavenger hunt, and a few other things. The crowd seemed like the usual Anime Con otakus that are into Naruto, Bleach, and the usual mass today con anime. There was; however, a small group of anime elites who had knowledge in current Japan media including Lucky Star, Code Geass, and a lot more.
There were a handful of cosplayers at the gathering just hanging around withstanding heat, doing anything to keep cool, and keep their minds off the heat. One group decided to break off and see what a crowd of people were doing, since there was a line of them, and they found out there was some community service activity going on at the Nature Museum. Another interesting moment was the bride getting her picture taken and well people were off stalking her just for the heck of it. A lot of geese were flocking around the park and as the reader, I’ll let your minds think of something creative.
Some of the strangest things happen when it gets hot. This includes one crazy person deciding to get his face slammed into a cake.
Even though I had doubts about the gathering, it turned out quite well in the end.

Wave – 1/7 Lucy Misora (To Heart 2)
By: quadrain | August 2, 2007 on 11:37 am | Category: Figures | No CommentsThe company Wave (sculpted by Atsushi Yoshino) brings Lucy Misora (aka. Ruuko Kireinasora) from To Heart 2 in a very nice maid outfit. There’s not much to say (introduction wise) about this figure but the package comes with Ruuko and a base to stand the model up. A resin kit of this model was released some time ago as an event only model but now it is released as a pre-painted model.

This model stands a little more than 8.5 inches in height on a circle base. I was quite happy with the base design, since the heels of the shoes are not the connectors to the base, rather the tip and under side of the shoes are. This creates a secure fit for the model and base.
